This Aska Crafting and Unlocks Guide will tell you how crafting works and how to unlock new crafting recipes. We also provide a list of crafting recipes.

Crafting is a big part ofAska— you'll have to make all of the tools you'll use to harvest resources and erect buildings in your Settlement. Some parts of crafting aren't as easy to figure out such as Blacksmithing; this guide will tell you what you need to know about crafting inAska!

How Crafting Works inAska

Crafting inAskadoesn't divert very much from the standard formula; all you need to do is go to the appropriate crafting station with the right resources to make an item that you want. You can also craft a handful of basic items from your inventory.

Most crafting recipes aren't available at the start of the game; you'll do a majority of your crafting through buildings such as the Workshop Pit and the add-ons that can be attached to the upgraded Workshop Hut.

How to Unlock More Crafting Recipes

Generally speaking, you can unlock more crafting recipes by upgrading your buildings. Upgrading the Workshop Pit to a Workshop Hut, for example, will give you access to several new Iron tools and weapons.

Do note that certain items will require a certain level of skills, typically crafting skills. Skill requirements are typically reserved for better items.

How Blacksmithing Works inAska| How to Make Iron

Blacksmithing inAskais a multi-step process that requires multiple buildings. You'll need to have the following buildings constructed to make iron items:

• A Workshop Hut
• A Metalworker attached to the Workshop Hut
• A Coal Maker
• A Bloomery

Naturally, you'll also need a source of Iron Ore. You can get some by finding the island's Cave Stone. Failing that, you may be able to get some Metal Scraps by killing armored enemies; Metal Scraps are functionally the same as Iron Ore when it comes to making Iron items.

Here's how to make Iron items:

1. Acquire Iron Ore or Metal Scraps.
2. Make Coal from Firewood at a Coal Maker.
3. Take the Iron Scraps and Coal to a Bloomery. Place 4 pieces of Iron Ore in the Bloomery and fill up the remaining spaces with Coal. Pump the Bellows to keep the heat in the middle of the bar until you get Iron Bloom.
4. Shape the Iron Bloom into a block by hitting it with a Hammer. You must occasionally rotate the Iron Bloom when your Hammer strikes are doing no damage.
5. Take the Iron Bloom and Coal to a Metalworker's Hut. Fuel the Forge with Coal and fill the Trough with Water from your Water Pouch. Heat the Iron Bloom in the Forge until it turns into Hot Iron Bloom.
6. Use the Hot Iron Bloom to craft Iron pieces such as Iron Axe Heads or Iron Nails. You must once again play the Blacksmithing minigame by hitting the item with a Hammer and occasionally rotating it when you do no damage.
7. Take the finished Iron Product to the Workshop Hut (or other appropriate structure) to craft your Iron item.
